This includes the adoption of Smart Regenerative Charging Systems (SRCS), a new method of reducing load on the engine from the alternator. However, this renders conventional split charge solutions ineffective, meaning that insufficient charge is directed to the auxiliary battery banks. In addition to this, intermittent higher output voltages can cause premature failure of certain battery types, as well as damage to downstream equipment such as inverters, water boilers etc.
